What kind of coffee do you have??
Good store. 24 hours. Gourmet.
A neighborhood stalwart. I've been going for years. Narrow aisles, quirky, very Upper West Side, very NYC. If you have a little patience you'll be amazed at what you find. Excellent selection, great prices on produce, extensive deli counter.
MoreGreat selection of cheeses!
Old school NY grocery. Some good stuff some bad. If its busy stay away. Not alot of room for lines at the cashier so there is no room to maneuver.
MoreOpen 24/7 and close to home so obviously I shop here a lot. The problem is that the prices are WAY too expensive and the receipt just says "groceries" and the sum total. Would go somewhere else if I had another place.
MoreWhat happened? I think it shrank.
You can always count on finding something exotic here.
Use to have great deli help, now engish is a second language....to many trump hating customers
MoreGot everything but priced at 180% whole food
This is a very good store. They try to carry everything Gunther's German honey-the dark kind too (Buckwheat), every kind of cheese (German also), good selection of olives and is at the right price, baked goods and pre-packaged, and they have some really great deals, but you have to SHOP. I LOVE IT. Also, I've been going there about 30 years and when my mom was local she loved to go in and haggle (they will!) Fun.
MoreAlthough this grocery store is small, it has just about everything you could look for when food shopping. I love he fact that the fruits and veggies always have a good sale and good price. I rarely buy meat products here, but I definitely shop for all other items here (dairy, fruits, veggies, cereal, etc). Love to shop small here!
MoreGreat store, wonderful selection
DO NOT SHOP HERE unless you want to be RIPPED OFF. Overcharged my son more than double the price of what item should have been. When I went back refused to adjust price. $14.99 for butter that is $6.99 at Fairway and Whole Foods. As a savvy consumer I would never have bought this - but my son had no idea. The gall of these people not to admit that they are in the wrong is mind blowing. I have been a good customer in the past- always willing to pay the extra dollar or so that they charge for the convenience. No more. I am thoroughly disgusted.
MoreNice neighborhood specialty food store. Staff is kinda friendly. Owner is always there. Everyone in the store is helpful when you ask them for help. They're a little pricey, but other than that, I recommend them.
MoreGood people caring about customers
Best place to get cheese on the UWS. Great prices, amazing selection, and they'll order anything for you if you don't see it on the shelves. Been shopping here most of my life at this point and probably won't change.
MoreGreat store for shopping.
How can such a small place have so. much stuff. These people are witches. I love this place.
MoreGood selection of Kosher and organic items
I live close by and really want to like this place because it’s so convenient. BUT... it’s disgustingly filthy, stuffed to the ceiling with very expired items including cheeses and other products, which explains the overwhelming bad odor when you first walk in. Over the past few years I have tried to give it a chance but just get grossed out each time I try to walk in and end up leaving without getting anything.
MoreMICE!!! And OMG, what a stinker this place is.The mice running around is totally gross :(
MoreGood store, their staff are really sweet and helpful.
Maybe a little truth about store.Mouses eat breadOver expired items are sold in storeThey move away expiration date (oryginal) and put their ownFrom time to time is bad smelling meat.No good store.be careful...And fresh news .today 05/24 I bought three yogurts.two of them were moldy and raspberries and the same.on the bottom all moldy.
MoreThey can charge whatever they want. The receipts are not itemized for each purchase, you don't know what you actually paid per pound or for which product you paid what. Be careful when shopping here.
MoreNot sure what the fuss is about, dirty, lines, guard at door, no thanks
I love Barzinis! They're always open and the prices on outdoor produce are unbeatable. I went in there for groceries during Hurricane Sandy, they were unfazed by the storm and working as usual. They carry a lot of foreign products and hard to find chocolates, cheeses and candies. In season produce outdoors is always a good deal and the prices overall are decent too. There is always a little line at rush hour but with products and prices like this, they goes without saying. Sometimes the staff could be a little friendlier but no harm done!
MoreMany many food items are expired, sometimes by weeks. When you buy a prepared food item with chicken, eat it and then notice it expired 12 days before, let's just say, you don't go back. They have lost my business forever and I used to shop here regularly. Have photos of cockroaches crawling on shelves.
MoreThere is a corner where you can find stuff needed for Persian cooking. Dried lemon, pomegranate molasses, spices, etc.
MoreA quirky neighborhood grocery store that has just about everything you need
There are some tight aisles in this grocery. Otherwise, you will find a fine selection of items. The bread is very fresh.
MoreExcellent store, thousand of different types of of items. Excellent service, very good prices. We love BARZINI 5 Stars
MoreStay away! Don’t trust this place! A lot of the foods they sell are expired. Meats looks grey and rotten. I even found fake expiration labels pasted it on top of some things I’ve bought there! Mice running around in the store that I’ve seen several times. Now they’ve gotten cats to try and combat the problem but it’s all just disgusting and gross. I don’t trust this place at all and will never return. Much better markets out there like Mani’s on Columbus/94, Han’s on Broadway and 93.
MoreJust saw mice and cats running under the shelves in this grocery store. Yes, mice and cat chase right out of a Tom and Jerry cartoon. Why has this grocery store not been shut down for health violations!
MoreA great local resource.
Best selections staff extremely nice! Best selections of cheese. Overall great New York supermarket the prices are reasonable and good!
MoreDisappointed. Kind advice: Look for a better place really it’s better to take a walk to whole foods trust me
MoreThe place is not spacious and has the smell of cheese. Matter of fact the entire block on 90th street reeks because of the slimy businesses that propagate here in my neighborhood. My poor neighborhood alas what has become of it? Here the beer is expensive and the lines to check out are long and slow because there is like only 1 or 2 cashiers at night. The times they are a changing
MoreLarge variety of selections, cost effective, fast service, wheelchair accommodations.
MoreDefective item, they made it difficult for me to return it. As a loyal customer for more than 7 years, you'll never see me in this store again.
MoreSuper fresh items, I felt like im in Italy at the second I walked in..! Unbelievable verity of items and brands. Very recommended!
MoreThis place has a unique aroma of aged Parmesan and a wet very old dog. It probably doesn’t help that there are several cats that live in the store (where unsealed food is sold). There is food moth in the store and in some of the products (I had it in a dry pasta bag), and in general the store isn’t very hygienic. They have a nice selection but most products are slightly overpriced. There is a good selection of pasta varieties, and I love their knisch even though it always gives me a good heartburn. The people at the counter wouldn’t be bothered with customers, they have their phones to entertain them instead (at least that’s always true at the night shifts)
MoreThey sell expired products. Also the prices are very high. This place is absolute trash. They have big rats all over the store.
MoreI like this place a lot for some reason. They have free cheese, decent prepared meals, little gourmet items, it has a vibe of both upscalish and down to earth. I bought olives the other day and they were reasonably priced (in my mind at least).
MoreIt's was about 3am. I figured I'd get a couple of things that I needed for the following day.... scallions.I walked to the back were the fresh Veggies are located. I big Rat ran in front of me....I was shocked. Never again!
MoreAmazing variety of anything you can imagine with reasonable prices . The owner is such a gentleman . Highly recommended !
MoreThis is the best grocery store in New York City
We like it. Surprising range. Great range of cheeses and small goods. If in doubt about expiry dates, check it before purchase. The baguette bread this morning was fresh. Delicious!
MoreAnything open 24/7 is good for me
An amazing selection of good quality groceries and produce in a small space. Good cheese and bakery sections and deli counter. Good beer selection.
MoreThis place has everything, high quality, at reasonable prices. Maybe those lower review are old?
